HELPING NEIGHBORS IN OUR COMMUNITY
We help individuals with specific needs as we have the funds to do so.
Please call the church office for assistance: 703-938-1234 during our office hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30-12:30. We are only able to help people in need one time per year.Through a partnership with Oakton Elementary and Mosaic Elementary, we are able to assist a number of needy local students and families with school supplies, personal hygiene items and snacks throughout the school year.
Christmas assistance to local needy families
Homework Club at Mosaic Elementary once per week during the school year
Monthly meal preparation and delivery to the Lamb Center in Fairfax; a resource center for the needy and homeless.
Ongoing donations of clothing, food and household items to CHO (Committee for Helping Others) in Vienna
Backpacks and school supply donations each fall for Rising Hope Mission Church in Alexandria and Northern Virginia Family Services
Ongoing donations of food for local hungry children through Mosaic Elementary School
Shepherd’s Center (Support Center for the elderly, located in Oakton)

HELPING NEIGHBORS OVERSEAS
RISE AGAINST HUNGER (Stop Hunger Now): Twice-yearly meal-packaging to aid those in crisis spots throughout the world. Each event provides at least 10,000 nutritionally balanced meals.
Helping Children Worldwide: OUMC is among 13 Northern VA churches in partnership to support the Child Rescue Center (a school and orphanage) and Mercy Hospital in Bo, Sierra Leone
School, health & layette kits, and Flood Buckets for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
Imagine No Malaria (global partnership to stamp out malaria)
One Great Hour of Sharing (global disaster relief)
