Christian Education at Oakton UMC

Watch this space for news of Sunday School classes (We call it Grow and Go):
each Sunday morning our Adult Grow and Go class meets at 11:15 a.m.
We discuss a variety of different topics in our class as well as doing on-going Bible study.
Join us for a variety of topics throughout the year.
Right now we are studying the Simon Peter book from Adam Hamilton.
Upcoming topics include a Spiritual Gifts study and learning about Stewardship.

There is nursery care during the Grow and Go time (11:15 -12 noon) each Sunday as well as during worship.

Children’s Church - K through 5th grade
Children ages K through 5th grade have the option of leaving the worship service to have their own time to learn about God, prayer and many other topics! The children leave after our Children’s Moment and return to join the congregation in singing the last hymn.
Children are also welcome to stay in worship and use one of our worship bags full of fun stuff to look at during worship.

During Children’s Church, we’ll explore our faith through learning about what John Wesley has to say about faith and we will continue to follow and discuss the scripture of the day each Sunday. We’ll also to watch fun videos and do projects to help others.

Our Youth (6th - 12th grades) have a group of their own where they study the Bible as well as other topics.

Join us for our Old Testament Study, each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. We’ll use one of the Great Courses and study the Old Testament with Dr. Amy-Jill Levine.
