Oakton United Methodist Church

For more than a decade, Oakton United Methodist Church has provided a quality preschool experience for 2-1/2, 3, and 4-year old children in the Oakton area. What started out as a mother's day out program has grown to one of the area's most loving and caring preschool environments. 

Our preschool caters to children, ages 2 1/2 to 4, and we limit our enrollment to no more than 40 students on any one day. Operating as a religiously exempt day care center, we are exempt from licensure; however, we are regulated by Virginia Department of Social Services. As such, our teacher/child ratios are never more than one staff member to ten children.
 
The school year begins on the first Monday of September, following Labor Day, and continues through the Friday after Memorial Day. Our hours are 9:30AM to 12:15PM.  We are conveniently located in the center of Oakton, at the intersection of Chain Bridge and Hunter Mill Road, directly behind the church in the education building. The address is 2951 Chain Bridge Road, Oakton, VA  22124.
 
Our 2-1/2 and 3-year old classes each have one lead and one assistant teacher. Our 4-year old class is staffed with two lead teachers and one assistant teacher. Classroom teachers work together as a team to prepare for each class day, and all staff are experienced with young children. Most of our lead teachers are also professionally educated in early childhood development and/or education. All staff members bring skills from their own parenting, musical and artistic experiences into the classroom.

Although enrollment is extended first to families who attend OUMC and Salem Korean Methodist Church, the program welcomes children of all races, ethnic backgrounds, and religious affiliations. Registration is conducted each spring for the following school year. While toilet training is not required for admittance, children must achieve the age for their respective class by September 30. 

Oakton Christian Preschool follows Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) lead in designating when school will be closed for holidays and/or for inclement weather. Below is a summary of our class schedule and monthly tuition. There is also a non-refundable registration fee of $75.00.
